The Story Behind curated MOMMA

curated MOMMA was born from a deeply personal place — womanhood, motherhood, and the care that this season of life truly deserves. Having had my daughter at a young age, I am now blessed to soon become a young grandmother. Experiencing pregnancy again through her eyes has been incredibly special and brought back so many memories. But it also made me pause and reflect on how women are supported during pregnancy and postpartum.

Calgary has some lovely maternity and secondhand boutiques, and many wonderful brands are already available. curated MOMMA isn’t meant to be a replacement for what exists, but something different in intention and experience. A space that slows things down and places emphasis on how something feels on the body — the quality of materials, the textures against the skin, and the care behind each piece — especially at a time when comfort and support matter so much.

We are about thoughtful curation over volume. It’s about choosing pieces that are well-made, beautifully considered, and designed to last beyond a single moment. We also seek to discover and introduce newer, more exclusive brands to Calgary that share these same values of craftsmanship, quality, and care.

As important as the products we carry is how women are welcomed. Whether someone drops in casually or books a one-on-one appointment, curated MOMMA is designed to feel personal and unhurried. We want every woman to feel supported, listened to, and genuinely cared for during this transformative time.

While our boutique is located in Marda Loop, our online store is accessible beyond Calgary. It will offer the same pieces to women across Canada, allowing expecting mothers everywhere to experience what we’re building.
